Leigh Staff - Governor
Leigh started working at St. Piers College as a student support worker in March 2017 and became a tutor in January 2018. She has taught wellbeing to students across the college and helped set up a wellbeing cabin within the vocational area.
Leigh previously trained as a hairdresser and a beauty therapist. She worked in the industry until she was able to open her own business. During this time Leigh began teaching beauty at a mainstream further education college and achieved her Cert Ed and D32/33 assessor’s qualifications. She also went on to teach in the community on apprenticeship programmes.
Leigh’s interest in special needs comes from personal experience. She grew up with a cousin who has special educational needs and she is a personal assistant for her nephew who has autism. .
We cannot thank the incredible teaching team at St. Piers enough. The progress that our daughter has made in her learning (in every aspect) is amazing and she is so happy to go to school every day. St. Piers has been – and continues to be – a life changing experience for her. Absolutely outstanding in every way.
