Jon Thoresen - Parent Governor

Jon ThoresenJon is the proud father of Nicholas who has attended Young Epilepsy since 2012 as a day student. Nicholas became a weekly residential student in September 2016. Jon is originally from Norway, but has lived the past 20 years in UK and is now a British citizen. Jon’s background is in finance and he has spent the past 25 years in trading and managing trading departments at various US and European banks. In October 2016 Jon joined a private wealth company as a Chief Investment Officer. Jon believes that his management experience, combined with his empathy and understanding from being a parent to a disabled child, makes him highly qualified to bring Young Epilepsy into the future by working together with the other governors. Jon is a keen skier and bridge player and enjoys spending time with his family.

Feedback from parents

Quote Icon My son has grown in confidence and now enjoys school. The school has helped my son progress mentally and physically. It is so reassuring to parents knowing all their child’s needs are being catered for.
